Hi everyone,
Greetings from Hyderabad, India. I am going to start playing the piano this month, and am shopping for a good practice instrument.

Among the limited options in new digitals available in my city, the Casio Privia PX135 and the CDP200R appeal to me, and are are at similar price points. Could someone advise me on which of these two is the better instrument?

I'm inclined to believe that its the Privia, because it has better polyphony, is there anything else I should consider?

Thanks!

Hi, Ajit! And, welcome to the Piano World Forums! smile

You may get more and better responses to your question on the "Digital Piano Forum" here on Piano World.

Personally, I have a Casio Privia PX310 and I like it a lot... the built-in speakers are not the best, but sound fine. Plus, you can use a keyboard amplifier with it if you choose. I'm not familiar with the Casio CDP200R.

Good luck, and enjoy your piano adventure!

Rick

Thanks Rickster!
I'll post this query there too. The speakers are not a big issue at this point; I live in an apartment building and will be practicing with headphones to preserve my neighbourhood's no-homicide streak smile

In that case, you will be fine... the Casio sounds fantastic with high-quality head phones (or a nice keyboard amp). And, the hammer weighted key touch feels pretty good too.

Take care!

Rick
