I listened to other interview with Trifonov. He is always generous with information etc. Another excellent interview! You asked questions that we, as a pianist, want to know what a professional pianist do. Thank again!!

I don't want to sound cynical but Daniil Trifonov does not play Chopin well. Rather than just dismissing this pianist's Chopin playing, would you spend a bit of time supporting your opinion?

Very thoughtful responses. Love a 20-something who quotes Tolstoy.
He prompted me to look up the entire paragraph:

Just listen to him play.. that's a better idea than me trying to scientifically explain how he plays Chopin "badly".

I am interested in why you think he plays Chopin badly. I don't know how one would explain someone's playing scientifically, that makes no sense. Just tell us, in your opinion, what makes you feel he plays Chopin badly. I don't mean to pick on you, I am just surprised that someone would assert that type of opinion and then not be willing or able to support it even a little.
