Frederic Lamond is one of the last pupils of Liszt. He recorded some reminiscences of his lessons with Franz Liszt in Weimar. He gives very lively examples of Liszt's teaching comments. In another clip he plays a beautiful Un sospiro. Alllan Evans discusses Lamond's biography and background in greater detail here
there are some interesting recordings of Lamond's playing on YT, including un sospiro (piano roll) and a recording of Tarantella di Bravura.

Here are some of his remarks:

"He could be very strict, even severe in his remarks. The mere mechanical attainments of pianoforte technique meant little to him. Speed, pure and simple of which much is made by many pianists of the present today, he held in contempt."

Re: Chopin's Polonaise in A flat:
"I dont want to losten to how fast you can play octaves. What I wish to hear is the canter of the Polish cavalry.."
