Captain Kawai, I’m glad to see your contribution to Sunday postings. You’re right, that choral work is really spiritual and beautiful. Very good choice!

Griffin, it’s fantastic you’ve posted a recording of Leontyne Price again. The more I listen to this soprano, the more I love her voice. And I’ve found beautiful voices in The Nathaniel Dett Chorale as well.

I’m surprised the “Bolero” by Ravel hasn’t been posted before. I love this music and this was an excellent version. This piece is not easy to play or conducting. It’s very difficult to maintain the tension and the rhythm along the piece, I think.

Richard, very interesting selections of yours as usual. I didn’t know that Requiem, another great discover from this thread!

Eglantine, sorry to hear you have to work on Sunday. I hope you will be hugely rewarded, at least wink.

Lots here to catch up with - birthday wishes to Richard, lots of music, and i still have to record my piece for the ABF recital.......
But more imporantly, Prince fever here has reached unfathomable heights....at least for me anyway crazy

Enjoyed the concert on Friday night. But better than that, I managed to score a ticket to his "secret" aftershow party on Saturday night. It was phenominal to say the least.

So while the rest of Sydney was sleeping early Sunday morning, myself and 399 other lucky fans were watching Prince shredding a new guitar (after he threw his Honher into the crowd earlier that evening at the Arena concert).

I think I mean choral music, religious based.

Good morning everyone! It's going to be another beautiful cough free day for me! YAY!! I also happen to have time for a few postings. I happened to be listening to some tunes of an acquaintance, and this tune by Donovan came up to the surface. It brought back some good memories. I thought I'd share it with you.

How about a little Roy Orbitson folks! I saw an old rerun of him a few weeks ago on Austin City Limits. What a talent! Enjoy!

Well I guess Its time to spend some quality time with my piano today. I have the day off, and am really eager to dig into some things my piano teacher gave me to work on. I'll check in later. Have a great day everyone!

It's been awfully quiet around here today. Since I'm making some progress with the extra time I have on the piano, I'll go back to that. However, I'll leave you with this; Stevie Wonder performing "Lately."
Enjoy!

Griffin - "Catch The Wind" - a great song. As a would be songwriter I have an interest in opening lines and "in the chilly hours and minutes of uncertainty" is one of the best.

Griffin, the Big O's Black and White Night is one of those concerts I can keep coming back to time and time again.
Thanks for posting that.

I've been quiet because I've been enjoying the 26th recital postings. There's some fabulous work put out there. I'm really impressed.

Here's a song that's better known in it's cover version, which has always left me feeling a little empty. The original had a pathos that's not there in Manilow's Mandy. This is a regular in my guitar repertoire.

Morning everyone! Richard, I'm glad you enjoyed the Big O yesterday. Elssa, thanks for the Stevie Wonder posting! I can't think of anything he has done that I have not liked. Today is a work day for me, and I am just getting ready to go to the office.

BTW, I've been listening to some of the recital postings as well. There are so many wonderful performances. I won't be able to finish listening to them for the next few days, however. Congratulations to all of you who participated. I can see that a lot of good solid work went into each of the performances I got to hear.

Off to work I go! Have a great day everyone!
