No. Too many variables + too few data points. Appraisals can be made after inspection, but a piano owner is not able to self-inspect or use such simplified variables as year, mileage, color and model.

Piano Buyer has guidance and pricing for new instruments. His older title The Piano Book has a wealth of information, but regarding used instruments, only broad, sweeping generalizations are discussed about pricing/depreciation.

The closer something is to new, the easier it is to make reasonable assumptions, but an overwhelming number of requests that we get to place a value on something are a waste of time without inspection.

When you say “values” do you mean replacement value, wholesale value, retail value, trade-in value, private party sale value, etc…??

If I’m looking for ball-park values for used pianos, I try to find as many of that same make and model (similar age/condition) as possible, that may be advertized for sale at the moment, and take an average of the asking price.

Also, as Sam Bennett mentioned, the current condition and age has a lot to do with values.

Of course, in the real world, something is worth what a buyer is willing to pay and a seller is willing to accept. smile

As far as BlueBook of pianos web site, I have found it helpful mostly for finding the age of pianos and maybe a little info on the company but that's about it...

In addition to providing very good pricing information on new pianso, Larry's book, Acoustic & Digital Piano Buyer addresses esitmating the value of used pianos quite well.

The OP didn't specifiy new or used.
