Hi,

My choice is narrowed down to the following digital pianos at prices:

- Roland HP-507 (~2890 EUR)
- Kawai CA-93 (~2699 EUR)
- Yamaha CLP-470 (~2334 EUR)

Which one would you guys recommend?

I wouldn't choose any of those.
I'd get a less expensive Kawai or Yamaha, and run the sound from a computer-based piano library.

Three of the best pianos from probably the three best manufacturers. Each of these would be pretty special, but they have their own characteristics which make people really love them - or put them off. Have you tried them? Having narrowed the choice down to these, I would buy the one I liked the feel and sound of best. It would probably be the Kawai or the Roland.

Which one feels and sounds the best to you?

Reaper / Native Instruments K9 ult / ESQL MOR2 Symph Orchestra & Choirs / Lucato & Parravicini , trumpets & saxes / Garritan CFX lite / Production Voices C7 & Steinway D compact

Focusrite Saffire 24 / W7, i7 4770, 16GB / MXL V67g / Yamaha HS7s / HD598

You've narrowed it down to the point after which no advice could help you more than your own opinion smile

I'd go with the Roland out of your choices. Not because I own a V-Piano, but because it is the most natural sounding piano sound of the three. SuperNatural piano is the next best thing to owning the V-Piano's wonderful organic sound. Remember that Roland utlized V-Piano technology to create the SuperNatural sound engine. The decay of the notes is the most lifelike. I guarantee that if you make a recording of the same song played on the three, the Roland will come out sounding as close to an acoustic as you can get with a sampled digital piano.

Good God that they called it SuperNatural and we can thus be sure it is the most natural sounding piano of the three. I suppose the Kawai is the most ultra progressive of the three then. And Yamaha is probably the most realistic grand expression.

Kawai CA63 or CA93. Best Action, Great Sound, Lcd/Switches on the Cheekblock.

Nice ...

While the most realistic sound is certainly what DP's strive for there is one more critical thing to consider, feel. Not only does the key action draw you into the moment but the piano resonating back is something you need to consider. Certainly try the feel out if you can, before you buy. Your decision will be a lot easier and you will get the right piano the first time.

I vote for Kawai CA or CS series. Even over the Yamaha AvantGrand - clearly the latter is a great piano, but I just prefer the sound of the Kawai. You really do have to try things out yourself, because above a certain level of quality personal taste becomes the most important thing.
