Hi Everyone,

Here is our recent interview with the Canadian pianist, Stewart Goodyear. He will be performing all 32 Beethoven sonatas in Toronto - in one day. We had the chance to ask him about the criticism he's received, his connection with Beethoven, and more.
Hope you're all having a wonderful week, and as always, thanks for reading smile

PS: Julian Jacobson played all 32 in 2003.

I don't consider the noted pianist Stewart Goodyear insincere, but I still consider his idea to perform all the Beethoven sonatas in one 14-hour stretch to be a stunt. My dictionary calls a stunt "any thrilling or unusual feat, enterprise, or undertaking." Even sitting in the audience for 14 hours might qualify as a stunt.

Now I read that his entire sonata delivery this Saturday in Toronto will be accompanied by a performance artist/dancer from Indonesia who will - as the promo material says - "heighten the listening experience" for us. The mind reels.
