I was looking on youtube for recent videos of the G minor ballade, and I ran across this. I found it somewhat bizarre, but the performance amazing (although it wasn't piano), so I watched it anyway.

I just found this interesting, so I figured I'd share it. Do you think this works?

EDIT:
Looking at her wikipedia page, it seems she's done routines to a few other Chopin pieces too. Interesting! laugh

What's the question?

The ice skating looks very good to me but I'm not an expert in ice skating

Youtube works but not too well, at 1080p I get a break every 30 seconds :-(

The continuous talking through Chopin does not work for me either.

Yeah she is a very famous figure skater in Japan. She is very musical. I know she took ballet lessons for a long time too.

I recommend that you stick to piano. I understand you may be able to master the piece on the piano for short amount of time. But, aghh.., how can I put this in words? Figure skating is different. Of course, you never know. So I shut up here.

FarmGirl, you are just too funny!! I'm over 200 pounds, and although nimble for my size, I'm still over 200 pounds. I'll stick with piano ha ha

Given the effect she is trying to generate, I do think it definitely works and it probably is the kind of thing her audience will love. But, for my own taste, I find the whole effect a bit cheap and predictable. Figure skating to Chopin, is like driving a Chevy and listening to Bob Seger - it's just too much of a cliche' to take seriously.
