I am looking for an arrangement for violin and piano of a patriotic hymn (god of our fathers, america the beautiful, my country tis of thee, etc.). We will play this in my church on July 1. needs to be moderately long and difficult.

Since it's just piano and violin have you given any thought of creating your own arrangement?

The moderately long part is real easy ... repeat.

How about finding a score for piano and voice and just having the violinist play the vocal line?

Well, there's Souvenir d'Amerique by Vieuxtemps. Don't know if this qualifies as a hymn, but should be difficult enough.

A lot of retailers run specials on patriotic music this time of year. Even online:
