Steinway Upright (Model K, I think?) for $3250

I was going around the shops by my town, and I stumbled across this. It's a Steinway Model K (I think) from 1886. I went to go see it yesterday. The keys were still the original ivory (decent condition, considering it's a 126 year old piano). The hammers have been replaced, and the action has been changed a bit as well. Either that, or the piano was REALLY taken care of. Would $3250 be a good price for this? Pictures of the piano below.

I believe that is a Steinway H. The hammer job looks uneven.

I guess. Is that above or below the price range for that?

Who knows? Prices for old Steinway verticals are all over the map, just as their condition and quality of any work done on them is.

You should have a technician inspect the piano. $3250 can get you a new piano, not a Steinway, but one that won't need a further refurbishment or repairs to function properly. BDB sums it up well... just because it's had work done doesn't mean it was done properly.

Yea get it checked out. If the action and strings are in good shape, then it might be worth the money. Are the strings original, though?
How many keys does it have?
