Here it is, a Friday night, and I have been playing the piano and sitting at the computer on PW. 10 years ago, I would have been out somewhere there was good food and drink, but I have reached an age that I like to spend time at home. I just wonder what other hobbies our members have besides the obvious. My other interest at present is customized hot rod golf carts. Weird, maybe, but let's just see.

BTW, have to add this: I just got my Steinway coffee table book. Very happy. Have a Yamaha, but have a Steinway book. Am I nuts? Don't answer that!

Jonathan Alford, I like that as well, but we've had a month of over 90 degree temps. Too damn hot to ride the bike. Once I clean the motorcycle, I hate to ride it, because it takes about 4 hours with a toothbrush and motorcycle jack to clean it again. BTW, my Harley is now 10 years old, and it has the original battery. I know that pretty soon I will be going somewhere and won't be coming back. LOL

Reading, way too much TV. Traveling...trying to get in at least one foreign trip per year plus short trips in the RV. Water exercise in the warm water pool...the exercise part is for aging joints so is not too strenuous, but the warm water is absolute heaven.

I have a comic book store and just got the latest edition of the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide this week, so I am looking over it eagerly. Also watching the Yankees start the second half of the season.

I always thought it would be cool to have a Victor Talking Machine. nice collection, Steve.
I do a lot of hiking, backpacking and rock climbing. Not so much climbing anymore, I worry about my hands now!

make cheeses (Camembert, Gouda, Cheddars, Stilton, Edam) brew beers (5 gallon batches; stouts, ales, pils, lambieks, kolsches) draw my own comic (write/pencil/letter/ink/publish) write novels, textbooks, non-fictions (12 so far) write movie scripts/TV scripts garden study sartorial matters study German (am intermediate) study Japanese (still quite rudimentary) shoot and clean my collection of handguns do woodwork, plumbing, electric work read tons of books
...or sleep.
Currently working on/memorizing... "It's You" from Robotech "He's A Pirate" "Crazy Bone Rag" "What The World Needs Now"

Interesting thread… Other than music and my pianos, I’ve been interested in different things over the years. I’ve restored a few old farm tractors and pick-up-trucks over the years. Of course pianos are a lot less dirty, greasy and heavy. I currently have a small heard of South African Boer goats that occupy some of what little spare time I have. For the last 3 or 4 years I’ve been on a regular exercise routine and have lost about 50 pounds. I feel better and look better than I have in years. My exercising has become an important part of my weekly routine, and I hope I can keep it up the rest of my life. I want a motorcycle, but my wife, who is severely disabled, my 77 year old mom, and my two grown sons are not at all supportive. I did a little research and according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcycle riders are 35 times more likely to be killed or injured in a motorcycle accident than an automobile accident. Ouch! Plus, the vast majority of those killed or injured on a motorcycle are over 50 years old. So, I haven’t come to a firm decision on that one. But, I always have liked to flirt with danger just a little… Rick

Steve Cohen, Very impressive collection! I have a '58 Seeburg 200 at home, not worth much, but your tabletop WurliTzer is spectacular. That's a great collection! The original stand is awesome.

Goats? You win the prize, Rick. BTW, thanks for the info on motorcyclists over 50 that are in accidents. I'm 57. Gonna sleep well tonight! HAH!

I ride my bicycle and also have a thing about quality tea. Those are my pastimes. When my Mason CC2 and custom Rivendell bicycle arrived within the same month, I believed I could die a happy man!

Well, as I write this, I have an oxtail reduction simmering. It is to be made into an aspic tomorrow. And, my model RR is active and providing visual interest while I compose this response.
My piano experience is a daytime activity.
Oh, and I am addicted to eBay.

The items I posted pictures of comprise a small part of my collection. All-in-all I have about 60 units. Each one was acquired in very poor condition and I restored them to like-new. Yes....I have a LOT of hours in that work!!! PM me for more details.

Oh, and I am addicted to eBay. Ah, if I didn't miss something, only Marty among us has been honest enough to confess to (perhaps too much) time on the computer.
