Hello,
I found some old pre-owned Steingraeber upright piano, one of 130 cm from about 1940, the other of 110 cm from about 1950.
I couldn't find any information about old Steingraeber pianos, which seem to be rare. Does anyone know how they compare to the recent Steingraeber models (which, by the way, are simply fantastic) ? Do you have some advice about buying those piano (which are about 60 to 70 years old) ? And any tips to check out their good technical health (to try on the piano or to check in its inside) ?
Thanks

I don't know about pianos from that vintage, but really old ones are markedly different from the new pianos, but still very high quality, of course. Hire a technician to inspect them.

Real old Steingraebers were good enough for Franz Liszt, and I hear he was a fairly good player.

He was no Freddy Chopin, though.

Thanks for your answers. For information, could you tell me an approximate guess of the value of such pianos (in very good condition) ?
