In support of his upcoming solo release The Story of Light, legendary guitarist Steve Vai kicks off his tour of North America this August, accompanied by his band – who is also featured on the new album: Dave Weiner (guitar), Jeremy Colson (drums), Philip Bynoe (bass), and Deborah Hensen (harp, vocals, keyboards). Special guest Beverly McClellan, season one finalist on NBC TV’s The Voice, will open the show.

Steve Vai is a three time Grammy Award winning virtuoso rock guitarist, and has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide throughout his career. Vai cites a number of legendary influences for his playing style, including Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Allan Holdsworth and Brian May. During his career, Vai has released a total of eight studio albums, has worked and toured with Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Whitesnake and dozens more of rock’s best known artists. Vai is considered by many fellow musicians and critics to be a virtuoso. His playing style is generally considered quirky and angular, largely because of his technical ability with the instrument and deep knowledge of music theory. His playing has also been described as "lyrical", sounding as if it was sung by a human voice.
