Hi All,

I am a beginner/intermediate piano player. I would love to memorise the song My Immortal by Evanescence on piano.

I am looking for a keyboard that has the song already programmed in or can be downloaded for training. It would also be great if the keys could light up as well as to learn the song even faster.

I have in the past printed the music notes and tried reading from them but yeah.

What keyboard would you recommend I buy? (Preferably light up keys)

Thanks!
Ramify

Or you could just do a search on youtube and find several tutorials like this one:

I would avoid a light up keyboard if you want to learn piano. You will not be learning piano, technique, fingering, music, rhythm, but instead learning response to lights. Bite the bullet and either learn to read music or learn by ear, and of course piano key orientation.

My old Casio keyboard lights up and can play back midi files, it was relatively cheap too. I remember when I bought it, I was exactly like you; I thought it would be easy to learn songs with light up keys. In the end, I never used it for playing back midi files and bought a better touch-sensitive keyboard that didn't light up - best thing I ever did.

I recommend what Kbeaumont said. I've learnt My Immortal, and many other songs, on youtube. It's really straight forward if you find good tutorials.

If you still think you need a light-up keyboard, look for a Casio and make sure you have the correct wire to connect it up to your PC (probably an 'AB USB cable', if I remember correctly).
