I signed up last week. So I am very new to it.

I talked to him personally before signing up and found him very enthusiastic and interesting and clearly he really wants to help people learn.

The system assumes zero knowledge and actually encourages you to start at the very beginning even if you are not new to music.

I think that some of the video/audio are a little slow but that may be just me. I have music experience but I'm starting at the beginning, like it says to do.

There are user forums with a lot of good information and many very active people, including Mike. plenty of community support. The audios/videos are not professionally produced but they're well organized and I think his explanations are clear and easy to understand.

I thought that the basic explanation about how chords and music move through a song was terrific. It made perfect sense in how to figure out what to do. I always knew there was a system and some logic but had never figured it out. Even with years of music experience of a couple different types, I have never 'gotten' chords, and have never ever - not once been able to pick out something by ear. But now I can see how it can be done and I can do the first line or so of a couple of different very basic songs.

Piano Magic - one year membership costs a little less than two months of my weekly lessons. So for me, I think it was well worth it.

I will continue my classical lessons, and expect that playing with written music will continue to be my forte but so far it looks great to me.
