For some reason, the countdown I had said that I had until 7PM Pacific time. Perhaps this was due to daylight savings time or something like that, but I'm not sure, since I didn't write the code for it. Anyway, I came to my computer to submit with what I thought was a good 10 minutes to spare, and the countdown even said 10 minutes remaining (yes, my time zone is correctly set to Pacific time). I refreshed the page, and the recital had already been closed frown

Lesson learned: I should look at and note the deadline, not rely on the countdown timer.

Anyway, I figured even though unfortunately I can't be part of the official recital, I can still post the recording I made for it. Here it is, warts and all. All comments (especially with regards to audio quality; maybe I should PM wouter79) welcome laugh

I'll even make it look like the official recital template, and I'll post the video at the end.

Performer's name: Sam Rose (Shmuel R)
From: Los Angeles
Experience: Just a bit under two years
Direct music link: click here to download
Title of piece: Stoic Theme from "The Shawshank Redemption"
Composer: Thomas Newman
Duration: 01:37
Source of music: Online sheet music
Instrument used: Late 70s Yamaha G2
Recording method: Canon HG10 for video; 2x Shure KSM141 mics recorded with Zoom H4n for audio
Technical feedback wanted: Yes
Additional info: It sucks that I missed the recital. This is like watching the ballgame on TV instead of being there frown
I love Thomas Newman and I loved (and still love) this movie. I hope you enjoy this. I'm dieting, so nothing interesting for lunch.

Playing since age 21 (September 2010) and loving it more every day.
