Found a 2008 Baldwin BH115 on craigslist for $500 has a cracked leg is otherwise looks great. Is it a good piano? cant find much info on line about it. we are also looking at a new pearl river for $2400 model UP 110. First piano buying experience is very nerve racking lol, any info is appreciated.

It's probably comparable to the Pearl River. Go try it out. It sounds like a real bargain (probably because of the damaged leg). I played an Acrosonic with a loose leg for many years with no problems. Just had to be careful when moving it.

Something like that is right up my alley. smile

I've purchased lots of things in the past that were damaged or needed repair for a reduced price; I fixed/repaired them and kept them and enjoyed them a while and then sold them, usually for at least what I had in them (or, I still have them).

Guess I just love to fix and repair things... (pianos included).

If you like the tone and touch of the Baldwin, I'd certainly consider it. It probably wouldn't cost that much to have a pro to fix the broken leg, if you didn't want to do it yourself.

Good luck, and keep us informed!

Rick

Congratulations! It's a beauty, broken leg and all. smile

And, you got a great deal, in my opinion.

Congratulations! It is lovely. From the photo, that's an easy fix on the leg and should be invisible.

Enjoy your new piano.
