Importance of age in buying Boston pianos < 20 years old

I am currently comparing used Boston GP-163 (5' 4") pianos. I settled on that model based upon having liked a new one that I can't afford, space constraints, as well as recommendations I've read. While I know it's important to try every instrument and have it inspected before purchase, I'm hoping for some generalizations regarding maintenance and longevity to help in screening which ones to consider.
The used Boston pianos I'm finding range between 5 and 15 years old. Most owners claim they have been lightly played, but regularly tuned. So here's the question - how much more longevity and reduced maintenance am I likely to have from a 5 year old Boston than a 15 year old one if the 15 year old one has hardly been played during the past 5-10 years? Is having it sit around for 5+ years with the lid closed and no one playing it (other than twice a year tunings) typically affect sound, maintenance needs and longevity of the instrument?
Thanks!

Hi Dave - Welcome to Piano World!
There is really no generalization which can be applied as they must be considered individually. That would take a hands on inspection from a technician. At this point, the only information is that they are both Bostons of different ages. Asking prices are a major consideration. Standard depreciation schedules would apply.
The ultimate decision is your reaction to an individual piano. A 15 y/o Boston, in good condition, has lots of life left in it.
