Hi all,

Believe it or not, I just discovered this website and so far I'm loving it. I thought I'd share a recent piece I wrote called The Piano. This is my definition of a piano. Hope someone enjoys it!

The Piano

Vanze,

Welcome to the Piano Forums. I enjoyed your piece very much. Because it was so characteristically tonal, I am STILL waiting for the final Do.

Vanze,

Yup, it's tonal, but there's a good bit of harmonic sophistication to it and it's well paced (structured). It would be perfect for the almost end music to a romantic comedy movie where the guy and girl are just about to finally get together. Ending on the dominant enhances the notion that the story isn't over yet. Thanks for posting.

I liked the piece as well....I could feel the passion behind the song and the rubato works well in that style of piece. Seems it had the sentiment of 'cavatina' from "The Deer Hunter".....which is one of my favorite pieces.

In the youtube description, you say the piano is like a sanctuary to you. That sentiment comes through in your piece and your playing. Nice work.

Hello there. I heard this sort of music on Christian recordings and church settings in many places. It`s a fine semi jazz style and relaxing. In fact, I`ll have to have a coffee now:)
