This a personal favorite piano solo of mine by Yiruma. So I am wondering how you might rate it in terms of level of difficulty to play? Its seems very fast and complex to me at least early on.

Both of my children are taking piano and I am wondering what level they would have to attain before they are able to to even attempt to play something like this?

Thanks,

Derek

Here is the sheet music. Both hands seem very active: http://www.scribd.com/doc/86973568/Sheet-Music-Yiruma-The-Sunbeams-They-Scatter-1

For small children, probably a few years of playing various material before they could play this - assuming they would even like to in the first place, as I feel that would be more a factor in the decision process. It's not particularly complex - various repeating patterns, but played at various velocities that would require a relatively agile player.

Thanks Bob,

That definitely helps give me an idea. My oldest son (11 y/o
) really likes it as well. But he has only been playing for ~ a year. So I know he's not ready yet. I may have him try another easier piece by Yiruma before then along with his usual stuff. He does enjoy experimenting with songs he likes.
