We have the privilege to participate this evening in an extraordinary meeting of the members of the Institute of Incoherent Astronomy.

Scientists from the world over are united in a congress, waiting with impatience for an announcement from the celebrated Professor Tanglebeard.

Professor Tanglebeard presents to his honorable colleagues a project of voyage that consists of attaining the Moon with the help of a projectile launched by a giant cannon.

But there is contestation in the air!

Finally, five courageous heroes accept to follow him in his mad enterprise!

We assist in the construction of the projectile.

The casting of the giant cannon!

The day of departure is finally arrived!

The launch ramp is installed above the rooves of the city.

Yonder, the full Earth!

In the interior of the Moon, the Cavern of Giant Mushrooms!

But the Moon is inhabited by the Celenites!

Prisoners of the King of the Moon, the King of the Celenites, will our courageous heroes succeed in escaping?

Grand parade, decorations, and public rejoicing!

I like that "great inventor and thief, Thomas Edison"!

In the documentary they say "May-lee-ay" but the name Méliès is pronounced "May-lee-ess".
