Would it be possible to know which year kawai introduced the abs-carbon composite and millennium III action in it's K-series Uprights in the US? Was it 2006 or 07 or 08??
From the pianos serial number I can find it's year of mfg, but I cannot find any resource that indicates which year they introduced the above.
Looking inside the upright I see some 'black' components but I cannot figure out more. I am planning to have a ptg tech take a look but it would be great if someone could provide this info.

Post the serial here and maybe one of the Kawai experts can tell you whether it is MIII or not. You can also contact Kawai America directly. I had also read that the black action parts are MIII whereas the white parts are the previous incarnation.

A bit off topic, but do you really have both the Sauter and the SK6? Nice pianos!

Yes in fact I do. I have to admit I'm still more partial towards the Sauter sound, which is much richer and clearer, but the Shigeru, being the larger piano, has a much easier action (for me)

K-Series was 2006.

Yes, this would have the M-III action in it. If you look inside and some of the action parts are black colored, then that confirms it!

So why didn't you go for the Sauter Omega? And which one do you play more often?
