I've been working on this concerto for about three months, and here's a runthrough I put together this morning. There are some slips (fingers and memory), and some flubs here and there, but any comments on how I can improve this work would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Nice crew cut. I didn't know you were so tall.

Fantastic how someone can actually be studying something other than piano at school and still be as accomplished as you are.

Thanks so much Plover!!! I do my best I guess...hahaa. I'm still working on the piece and I'll keep trying to make it better.

I guess there's not much interest in this recording on the forum for now...maybe everybody's only excited for the next Bachmach2 release!

Don't give up hope - it sometimes takes a little time for these things to "cook." grin

Get an orchestra.

laugh

I'm with Pl'us, though. I've been following your recordings for about 2 1/2 years, now, so I know you have a heart for these "action pieces," and it's always a blast to see what you'll come up with next! grin

When you play this, do you have the orchestra part running through your head? Just curious.

We should run this sometime - I'll read the orchestral part!

Sounding great!

Thanks everyone!!

@Andy - yeah, I try to hum along the orchestra part, or at least imagine it. It sort of sucks that the piano accompanies the orchestra for so much, rather than getting all of the juicy melodies!! Something like a Chopin Concerto would be a bit more fun to play alone.

@Pogorelich - Okayy!! I'll send you a message over FB. Funny how I met Saeha and she was plonking out the orchestra on the same piano while I was playing the solo part.

Great try! Please, buy an orchestra!! Haha!!

That's a complicated concert and you can play it very well!! Really, there are some only orchestra recordings and programs for the computer that could help you to add an orchestra to your recordings (for your practising it would be great, too)

So thank you for your sharing and continue posting!! laugh

Are you sure that's you and not Rachmaninoff who's playing?

No, but apparently you have the same haircut. wink

I don't know if I'll have time to listen and comment to the entire thing in one sitting, but since you asked for some honest feedback and I've played this piece before (coincidentally, also in college, and also with only 3 months to try and perfect it), I'll dive in. I PM'd you my running commentary, so pardon if I don't say "bravo" until I get to the end.. smile
