Hey guys, First post here on PW. Thought I'd share a recording I made a few months ago. It was kind of done on a short notice, but it turned out alright, though far from perfect. Feedback is much appreciated. Gustav http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZKd5K8TvgI&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing. I love hearing Haydn done well, and this recording is proof that there are wonderful things to be found before Hob. XVI:50.

Thanks a lot - I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, there are certainly many fine underplayed sonatas by Haydn. Many of these short two-movement works are great character pieces and fun to play (this is my first Haydn-sonata, though)!

Just a thoroughgoing pleasure, Gustav! VERY musical! I'd love to hear you perform one of the late Mozart Sonatas -- I know it's blasphemous to say so, but I've always found the later Haydn Piano Sonatas far more inventive and charming than Mozart's. As well as you play this material, it'd be most instructive to me to see how you approach Mozart.
Most appreciated, and thanks for sharing this!

Tim and Forrest, thanks a lot for your responses. I'm very glad you liked it.
Haydn is extremely imaginative - yet Mozart is expressive in other ways!
I don't have any plans for Mozart right now, though, but I'll be sure to post when I play one of his sonatas again. To me, he is the most difficult composer to play.
