Yes, there's a bit of stumbling occasionally, but it seems impossible to avoid...Once you're past a certain stage with this piece, it does play itself in a very odd way. However, in order for that to work fully, one has to be sure not to be tired and the fingers must remain alert at all times. If everything works, it's quite a roller-coaster ride

This is a favourite of mine and I have presented all the other sonatas to this forum. I have only been able to listen to your opening bars and I must say you really do not seem to understand this score. "Un poco piu vivace" needs to be far more rhapsodic and you play the "allegro" too fast and almost without tone. The allegro reminds me of Mendelssohn and is almost "piquant".

Currently I am downloading the .mp3 and will comment in detail after I have listened to the whole thing. I shall present you a recording for ideas, but this is still in "rehearsal" for me.

To be clear, your version sounds nothing like Mendelssohn, but it should be Mendelssohn-esque if it is played correctly!

i.e. "light, fluffy eggs" with a shimmering power!

It neither sounds like mendelssohn, light fluffy eggs or Beethoven. Dreadful. Don't bother listening to my stuff. Why not try and perform it twice end to end in 4 minutes? ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN.

This is so incredibly wrong...the Hammerklavier is NOTHING like Mendelssohn's writing.

hehe, I think he was just referring to the shortish Allegro section of the part preceeding the fugue. In any case, if anything it is Bach it should sound like....
