Hi to everyone! Well, after a period of time in which I've been able to enjoy of my summer holidays, it's time to work again, so here you have one of my last BIG works laugh

Here you have the Danse Macabre, a masterpiece composed by Camille Saint-Saëns for the orchestra, based on a poem from Henri Cazalis (so we can say that's a symphonic poem) The transcription was done by Liszt and this arrangement (harder than the Liszt's one, what isn't small xD) was done by the great Vladimir Horowitz

This masterpiece and the "Godowsky's Studies on Chopin's Études" are the hardest pieces I've ever played.

I hope you like it! I was a hard work! Haha!  :P

Bravo, terrific job! (I'm currently in Boston, 3000 miles away from home- and slightly homesick for Seattle- so what a pleasure your music brings to my hotel room.)

I never cease to be amazed at Liszt's elaboration of Saint-Saëns's modest introduction, and how it is carried through subsequently, the stuff of genius. Not to mention the festivities courtesy of Horowitz.

Absolutely wonderful, many thanks for all your good work.

All I can say is "Wow"! I loved the way that you always made a point of making music throughout; i.e., not just emphasizing the virtuoso, showy elements of the piece, but also the shape and line of the orchestral textures. Just a fantastic job! Also, nice to be able to hear you on a concert grand. Thanks for sharing!

@argerichfan, many thanks to you for all your nice comments!! I'm really happy if you like my performances as I think you do! Thanks smile

@Damon, Thanks to you for commenting!

@Tim Adrianson, thank you very much!! Yes, I liked to imagin each instrument in the orchestra and what each part of the piece was supposed to be (for exemple, there is a part that is a quote of a "Dies Irae" from the Medieval periode!!) and trying to emulate the orchestra (that's what Liszt wanted to do and in my opinion he got, emulating the orchestra with just a piano)so I'm very happy for this comment!! smile

Thank you very much to all you!! laugh
