who ever tried 'ab irato' in concert? I'm trying to play all 6 of them, so 'll have to include the angry one, but it's terra incognita for me as to public reception..

This guy did it for the Rubinstein competition a while back. I'm sure it will go over well with most audiences, provided you do it justice (which I'm sure you can).

other question: the 3 (lamento, leggierezza, sospiro) form a set, the 2 (waldesrauschen, gnomenreigen) form a set, where to include 'ab irato'? Between them?

I don't know this piece. But I looked it up on youtube, and found this fantastic recording, which doesn't make it sound angry at all.

It's a wonderful piece, more musically interesting than technically. He actually went through several iterations of it just like the other big sets, and the latest version is a fully mature piece that can and should stand with the other concert Etudes. I think it has more than a touch of Mendelssohn to it as well.
