I decided to present these as a precurser to my planned release of Balakirev's Reminiscences of Glinka's [opera] "Life of the Tsar". Very low rehearsal time and the Mazurkas lack 'snap' at the finale. Indeed it would be fair to say they "wilt in places", but brilliance is there in parts also. Enjoy those parts! The Scherzo 1 is not regularly performed as it is quite difficult to play.
