What are some of the Hallowe'en pieces that you like to use (or that you know of)? They don't have to be Hallowe'en themed; I'm just looking for pieces that convey that type of mood.

Here are a few pieces my daughter's teacher had her learn that seems to capture the feel:
- March of the Goblins (Boris Berlin)
- In the hall of the mountain king (Grieg)
- Dance of the trolls (carol klose)
- Witch on the wind (Rosemary Byers)
- Hedwig's theme (from Harry Potter)
- March of the dwarfs (Grieg)

Boogieman (from Album for the Young) by Liebermann
[Yes, Liebermann spelled "Boogeyman" wrong on purpose.] Your mention of spelling Boogieman captured the imagination of my inner spell checker. I had to look up the origin of "boogeyman". I found out that Liebermann's work went on to inspire K.C. and the Sunshine Band.

I used Linus and Lucy (Charlie Brown) to play for cake walk at a Halloween party last year and the crowd loved it. I just received an email from Sheetmusicplus.com that they have Halloween music on sale!

I'm going to move over to the "dark side" and suggest pieces from the Twilight and Harry Potter movies. Students love learning them. They are beautifully arranged, and the Potter "Easy Piano" book is very doable. I also use traditional songs from FJH and Piano Town, esp. level 3. But so far, the biggest draw is Twilight and Potter songs.

Arrangements of Bach's famous Toccata (BWV 565).
Gil deBenedetti has the intro (at level 2) and a goodish part of the first part, only moderately simplified at level 4.

Just a quick comment on Twilight, I recall that Debussy's Au Claire de Lune was the theme for one movie, and that stirred a bit of ruckus a while back.
