I've gone through book 1 + 2 of the Aaron adults beginner course. And right now working on a few pieces with my teacher. Some quite challenging pieces actually. Nothing out of a book but printed out pieces with things which are a bit complicated

I'm thinking well the Alfred book seems to be aimed at around my level, it might be nice to play some new pieces that are not so frighteningly difficult than it takes ages just to learn a couple of measures.

Question is how much overlap is there, also would it be a retrograde step to go to easier pieces? I mean its nice to be able to grab some not frighteningly difficult sheet music and be able to have a decent crack at it right? And getting stuck on harder pieces seems to sap my motivation somewhat.

Thanks
