Feurich is considered a great piano but it seems to me that there was a recent thread about counterfit Feurich's in the Phillippines.

Feurich has had a storied and rather fractured past. While the Feurich's of the last 15 years have been hand made in small numbers, Feurich in the post WWII years was a rather large manufacturer utilizing modern German woodworking techniques, very similar to the approach of, say, Grotrian, Schimmel and Sauter. Great designs honed over decades, modern high quality construction and reasonable prices (relatively speaking).
Julius Feurich (the person) has had in the recent past a couple of joint ventures with Chinese manufacturers, exclusively using, as I understand, the Julius Feurich brand. These ventures were aimed at the Chinese domestic market and are not supposed to be distributed anywhere else. I'm not aware of any counterfits but stranger things have happened.
The current product line offers two options, with significantly different designs and price points; one made in Gunzenhausen Germany and one made, under contract, by Hailun in Ningbo China. These two lines are very clearly differentiated in appearance, marketing and price, regardless of what competitors are saying.
