Greetings, It looks like the tuning pins have been driven in till the coils touch. Bad sign. It also looks like whoever restrung it chewed the finish up around the bottom of the pins. Another bad sign. Buying this without your own technician examining it first is a total roll of the dice. Regards,

It looks to be a Steinway built in Hamburg. I'm not familiar with the Model "Z" and the Hamburg web site is in German. Steinway NY list 21 different vertical models in their general stringing information tables. I wonder how many Steinway Hamburg adds to the list?

The Steinway Z i quite normal here in Europe. It's the smallest upright they've made, as far as I know. They can be very hard to tune in the treble due to a crazy bend of the strings over the felt just beneath the tuning pins. That problem will only increase if the tuning pins have been driven too far in. Otherwise it's a nice piano.
