I have a transfer student in level 3 who has a hard time recognizing notes. This student previously used Alfred Basic with their previous teacher and we have switched to Alfred Premier. She obviously needs more note practice, so I was thinking I should add an online note reading program or software. Do any of you use note reading software? If so, what do you use? Thanks!

Hi lyn,
I don't use online reading programs, but you might be interested in this one:

I tend to do drills during lessons using note flashcards and a timer. I encourage parents to work with their child at home on this also.

A sight-reading book may be of use too, if you feel this student would actually practice.

Four Star or A Line A Day are the two most of my teachers have preferred and I have to say I like them. I tried using Four Star with a couple of students but they'd never practice them. It really depends on the students.
