Hi Everyone,

I heard somewhere in the forum there is a recommendation list of top performing digital piano on different affordable level, but can not find it. Can someone help me with this?

Is Kawai CL26 a good choice for the budget of 800USD?

The most important feature to me is the keyboard and I really like the compact design of Kawai CL26.Is there any other model out there with such a compact design and good keyboard?

Thanks

Bai Liping

Hello Bai Liping,

The CL26 is a good entry-level instrument. While I am a little unfamiliar with the pricing of digital pianos in China, if you are able to purchase this model at 800 RMB ($128 USD), I believe you will be very happy.

Other instruments with a similarly compact design are the Roland F-120, Yamaha, YDP-S31/S51, and Casio PX-750/PX-850.

Kind regards,
James

Edit Reason: Remove reference to 800 RMB

Hi James, I meant to say 800USD. So that's roughly 5000RMB

Ah, I see.

Really, it's difficult to tell if the CL26 is competitively priced without knowing the prices of similar instruments.

Kind regards,
James

Probably the best "recommended" list is the prices paid topic. Most purchasers spent considerable time researching, utilizing the full resources of the forum. One caveat is that new models will not be well represented as the topic goes back many years. Still, I see it as good information.

It's also interesting and informative to compare the prices paid in the above-mentioned thread with the list prices given at pianobuyer.com.

@MacMacMac,

Yes, that is true, as I have you to thank for helping me make an informed decision regarding the sales price of my Kawai CA95... can't thank you enough on that, as many may not be aware that it is the customer who should set the asking price, not the sales person / store.
