Dear all,

I'm thinking about buying a KAWAI CA-65 DP. In fact, the only thing I'm unsure about is the color. I'm undecided between Black and Rosewood. I would prefer Rosewood, but on the official pictures the speakers above the keys look like the brownish color does not really fit (it's too bright), e.g. see
http://kawai.de/images/productimages/ca65_1_431.jpg

Does this look like this in reality too? Maybe someone could post a real picture? Thanks. I checked some dealers in driving distance, and they all only had the black model available frown

Cheers,
Achim

@AchimE,

I purchased a CA95 in the rosewood color and I can say that it is certainly a very dark wood, as I think you would like it.

Also, keep in mind that that the rosewood models are matched to gold-plated pedals, whereas the black models have the standard silver-plated pedals.

Satin black = silver pedals
Rosewood = gold pedals

I do prefer the golden pedals as they look more distinguished.

This is a subjective choice, of course.

Hello Achim,

The CA65R image shown on the Kawai Europe site appears to be a little different to the full resolution data that I have here. I will have to ask my colleagues in Europe to update their images.

In the meantime, please use the link below to view higher resolution images of the CA65 'Premium Rosewood':

http://www.kawai.co.jp/worldwide/support/images/CAx5/CA65R_small.jpg

In addition, here is a picture of the same instrument and finish in a location environment:

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,
James

Although my natural preference for piano's is black, I think the Rosewood on the CA series looks actually a bit more stylish. Probably, because the black is not polished and Rosewood looks better on a standard (non polished) cabinet. The golden pedal finish the looks. Very nice pics. The speaker felt is indeed just a little bit off in color, but not disturbing.

Nice !

Hi,

thanks for the comments and nice images. I also think that Rosewood looks more stylish. In contrast to the black one, the surface does not really look like a matt finish.

The only thing that makes me worry is that the speakers seem to be this little bit off in color. But on James' pictures it look much much better than on the pictures given on Kawai's European site.

Best, Achim
