to not get a mice in a piano, you must install the pieces of wood on the back of part the pedal

They can get in through other places too Max. A mouse will fit through a hole that is 1 cm in diameter. The cutout at the top of some kneeboards for the latch, gaps from the keybed frame and other spots work as a door for them also. They will chew through the wood if inclined to get in there also. This works as a good deterrent.....
