This custom search works much better than the built in one and allows searching older posts.

Hi, Nathan! 116/4 is my personal favorite from the magnificent 116 - 119 sets of late Brahms piano works. I think you play it very cleanly and accurately, but for my taste it's presented too objectively by half. I need to hear more caressing of the material, more attention paid to the "whispers" and sad unrequited longing that this music so wonderfully conveys. I also think that you have a tendency to overdo the accents: I think your phrasing is correct throughout, but the stressed notes don't need to be signalled that strongly -- sort of like too many underlined words and exclamation points in a paragraph.
Overall, though, a nice presentation of a not-so-easy work. Thanks for sharing!

Tim - I agree. I sometimes end up failing to bring out contrasts in a performance setting (whereas in practice you might have said I overdo it). And I have to work on not kicking accented notes. Thanks for the detailed feedback.
