#1982207 - 11/03/12 01:27 PM No Dual Voice Mode in Kawai CA95?

Has anyone figured out how to create custom dual voices on the CA95 like you could do on the CA93? For example, you could select two voices, and then tweak the tone control, damper hold, key-off effect, etc. for both voices together so that you had a preset like "Steinway Grand Devotion." However, when you attempt it on the Kawai CA95, after layering two voices, if you exit to access the virtual technician, it kicks you out of the dual voice mode altogether. Has anyone found a solution to this? Thanks!

Hmmmm.... sure i did some time a go but cant remember now... although i posibly layerex the two, saved to registration then tweaked the basic settings lo mid hi tone control.... i find a satisfactory sound can be acheived this way though your issue is slightly different and i do recall having the same happen to me... i didnt persue it as i blended by voices and got the tone good for me by above description....

Could be a software fix for ths one.

Chopin4Liszt, you're correct - it is not possible to enter the Settings menu (and therefore Virtual Technician parameters) when Dual Mode is selected.

However, it should be possible to make the desired Virtual Technician adjustments in normal (i.e. single voice) mode, then select the two sounds for Dual Mode.

While this process is not ideal, it is currently the only method.

Kind regards,
James

Yeah, thanks for the reply. It is a bit disappointing that the NEW model lacks features that the old model had....also Kawai reduced the size of the soundboard. Bummer.

The CA95 does not lack any of the features of the CA93, however the operation of some functions is a little different.

May I ask where you read this information? I do not believe it is correct.
The CA95 soundboard is superior to the CA93 soundboard due to greater output power and a broader frequency range.

Kind regards,
James
