Can someone recommend a really good piano technician in either LA or Orange County? Thanks!

There are many great techs in SoCal. David is one I too enthusiastically recommend but there may be one closer to where you actually need him or her. And that is...?

I'm in Long Beach, near the water. But if there's a super one I'd certainly pay him/her for the drive!

Just one man's experience:

Lisa Weller never returned either of my two phone calls to her about 8 months ago.

I'm a simple guy with a modest piano. I talked to David Anderson and his spiel, even if he is a PHENOMENAL tech, was a bit like something you might get from an over enthusiastic Guitar Center salesman. That and his wanting double what most guys were asking for an assessment visit was a deal killer.

I'm still looking for a tuner/tech. I'm happy with my tuner but his compass of mechanical work is limited and I'm needing/wanting some regulation done.

Anyone have any experience with Don Walker?

Kurt

If you're in Long Beach, ask Kathy Smith or Bruce Stevens. Can't go wrong with either one, although I don't think Kathy is taking any more clients, and Bruce will probably refer you to his son.

Thanks Dave; those are very helpful to me. Actually it was Pierre Julia who gave me Don Walker's number. I was turned down by Anne Hayden last year. She was very gracious about it. I'm on the westside. I'll add Richard Davenport to my call list.

Oh yeah - Lisa gets a +10, too. Although I know she just moved, but i am pretty sure it is in the same service area.
