anyone record anything with the Galaxy Giant yet ? thoughts on the tone? Does it sound like a high end piano or just cool b/c of the resonance and stuff ?

Yeah, I'd kind of like to hear it. Maybe that thread where we were rendering that chopin piece with a ton of VST's. [the thread] I wish it was indexed so we could just jump to the reader from each piano. I also don't feel like I've gotten a good enough feel for Ivory American D yet.

I have the Giant. If you have a MIDI file, I can play it through Giant and save a recording.

Here you go :-) One is rendered using the Giant Basic patch. The other, using Concert Hall patch. https://www.box.com/s/jf6cz3ecj9u3krb6i5x1

Rob, those sound great. It is a bit of a metallic sound, but it certainly is pleasing and will suit several 'moods' one would like to achieve.
Even Chopin sounds fantastic, even though the more 'mellow' sounds are more traditional. Great sound indeed.
Rafa.

There are several other presets, and all can be tweaked in numerous ways, to give pretty much any tone you want.
But for me, one of the best things about The Giant, is it's playability. It's the closest to Pianoteq, that I have tried.

Love those meaty bass notes! Btw, when the string length parameter is increased in Pianoteq, the sound of the bass notes is actually kind of similar to The Giant, IMHO.

anyone record anything with the Galaxy Giant yet ? thoughts on the tone? Does it sound like a high end piano or just cool b/c of the resonance and stuff ? It can do both types, and very well. Here is the preset called "Dreamland": Dreamland Preset from The Giant
