I grew up with a piano that was my mom's when she was a kid. It says "product of Baldwin" on the brass plate to the right of the harp, and just to the front and right of that is a number, 259564, but I am not sure what it is. Can you help me? It it a beautiful instrument with a lovely sound. Thanks

The piano left the factory in 1984. It might be a Hamilton or one of the many other brand names sold by Baldwin.

It is not a Baldwin. It is one of the lesser brands made by Baldwin. If it were a Baldwin, it would have it cast into the plate, not on the little medallion. There are several different series of serial numbers that were used for such pianos, but it would have been made long before 1984.

It was probably made about 1935.

If the hitch pins, the pins that the far end of the strings go around, are roll pins vertical in the plate, with the end of the string off the plate, then it is a real Baldwin, made in 1984. If it is not, it is another one of their labels, probably about 1935.
If it has never been refinished, the name Baldwin should be on the fallboard above the keys. It is not likely that a piano from 1984 would be refinished.
