Just discovered Pianist James Rhodes awhile ago. Listened to about 4 other pianists play this piece and when I got to James I says to myself: "This is how a piano oughta sound."

Have to spend more time listening to this artist.

Gave Valentina Lisitsa a fair chance with this piece and her Bosendorfer. Sounded very good but to my ears the treble of this piano is too mellow.

Seems as I continue to listen to concert pianists I grow more and more in favor of the Steinway sound.

Music. One of man's greatest inventions. And...for me, the piano expresses it best.

Ah, yes. Especially the Hamburg Steinway (which is what this Rhodes guy is playing).

Here's another pianist playing a Hamburg Steinway. I love his efficiency, no excessive movements.

We have (had) the same teacher. *clang*

I quite like James Rhodes, but not this particular recording. The voicing is a bit all over the place.

Who's the dude in the oversized photo, and why is it on stage?

A former Moscow Conservatory faculty member perhaps? I love the playing, though!

The Debussy is stunning - who's playing it? And forgive me if it's you! Beautiful.
