Reading Music on Devices

I've been looking into tablets (primarily iPad mini and nexus 7) for reading sheet music downloaded from imslp. I've seen a few people, primarily my private instructor and a friend, who read music from their iPads, and I think it would be quite useful, especially on the go (traveling home from college, the main weight in my backpack were 5 large music books). Have any of you used either tablet to read music? If so, how well has it worked and would you recommend the device you're using?

iPads are too small, but I like my Asus 121.

I've tried it. iPads are far too small and inconvenient.
