I've been looking into tablets (primarily iPad mini and nexus 7) for reading sheet music downloaded from imslp. I've seen a few people, primarily my private instructor and a friend, who read music from their iPads, and I think it would be quite useful, especially on the go (traveling home from college, the main weight in my backpack were 5 large music books).
Have any of you used either tablet to read music? If so, how well has it worked and would you recommend the device you're using?

iPads are too small, but I like my Asus 121.

I've been recently looking into creating e-books for kindle. NOT just a PDF file, but a file that can zoom in and out at will and still keep it's layout. It must be dead tricky to do in kindle, or other native formats, but it's better than a pure image, and/or a PDF file.

I'd assume that a kindle or an ipad (mini?!?!?!!) would be simply too small for such a use. But for some other tablet, a bit larger, I'd say that it'd be fine...

I've tried it. iPads are far too small and inconvenient.

If you're trying to read the traditional format for sheet music on an iPad, then don't get the mini because that's way too small... even the iPad 4 is slightly smaller than I'd like.
