I just found my daughter a used piano and was hoping to find some infor on it. I have googled and googled and have not found anything about it. It is a W.M. Bedford with the numbers 4092 on the inside.I paid very little for this and was wondering if this model was a good starter. It has a wonderful sound and is in great condition.

Right off the bat, an unknown name is not a good sign. The piano atlas mentions a Bedford as a stencil, brand, which would be a cheap piano with a made-up name stenciled onto it.

However, no matter what, you will need to have it tuned, and the person who does that will be in a better position to tell you about it than anyone here.

Thank-you BDB, I did find that W.M.Bedford was made in Brooklynn NY by 5 brothers from the UK. They opened a shop in 1907. We did have the piano tuned like i mentioned it has a wonderful sound. I really dont know much about pianos and was was hoping to learn more about them thru reading up and studying as muchas i have the time for. I really love the music from a piano, it is very relaxing. as my daughter learns I hope to buy her a more up to date with the help from maybe some of you on here..
