My digital is clp 430. I tried to record it with the USB to device port (WAV format), but something is annoying with the recordings. They are not "loud enough". some dynamics are missing.

I'll give you a few examples so you'll get the point.

In this videos the sound was recorded thru USB:

While I wish to get something like this:
(CLP 440)

Hear the difference ?

You're going to have to give us a bit more information (though I am not an expert).

What audio software program are you using? Have you tried using the 1\4" audio Outs from the keyboard to the 1\8" In on your computer sound card?

I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions ... and solutions.

Just my 2 cents.
They all sound real good.
The River Flows piece is being played with a really light touch, the other '2' Pirate pieces are played with a hard touch.

If, by your question, you are interested in how you can process your sound file after you record it to increase it's volume, that's a different process versus getting a louder recording while your actually doing the recording. I hope that makes sense.

How about normalising the audio using a tool such as Audacity?

Employed by Kawai Japan, however the opinions I express are my own.

As I've said, I use the CLP built in recorder, I connect my disk on key.
The result is identical to the first three videos.
I just think the recording thru USB is a bit different from what I expected. By saying "loud" I didn't mean the volume is low.. I was actually refering to the dynamics, they sound different when I play live.. (there are more differences, for example the reverb also sound lower in the recordings)

and Dave, I haven't tried yet to record thru the CLP audio outputs. (my soundcard is crappy, its line-in quality sucks)

but I do wonder if it will sound different thru the CLP audio outputs (with a proper soundcard of course).
Is that possible that the USB-to device recordings will sound different than the audio outputs recordings ?

also I would love to hear a few suggestions on how can I edit my recordings to sound more to my taste.

The Chopin Shakira sounds like a brighter patch was chosen.
Are any of the videos you?
