I initially came to the store to look at the new FP-7F ($1,899), but liked the sound and feel of the HP-305 better. The piano had a sticker price of $3,199. It took me several days to negotiate the price down to $2,600. Sam Ash initially offered me a 10% discount, but I found a better deal online, so in the end they matched that online price.
This is my first post here. Many thanks to all participants on this forum for advice, model comparisons, personal opinions, etc, etc!

dewster in New Jersey bought a Roland RD700NXC for $2199
FredFabulous in Norway bought a Roland RD700NX for $3400
Is there a difference between the NX and the NXC that would explain the $1200 difference?

Taxes and +25% import duty. I know, it's a crazy country.
Getting it shipped from USA would give me this:
2200 * 1.25 = 2750
+ shipping say +250 = 3000
Pondered a lot if it was worth the difference that I could return it within 30 days and warranty and all. And finally took the plunge.
But man I really thought I could get a better price, according to my receipt I got $150 off, the price was also $120 more than he initially told me. Lesson to be learned - do NOT get too friendly with the store owner if you're not a very confident haggler.
Still not sure if it was the right thing to do. Got 30 days to work up some anger and return it if I so decide.
