Hey folks, any suggestions?: Regarding "Capriccio" by Dohnanyi, Erno [Op. 28 No. 6], anyone know the RH fingering for first 2 measures. It's just scalar thirds [in F minor] in a repeating triplet pattern? (But it's a bit of a tricky pattern).

It's either:
RH 35,24,13 12,13,24 repeat. Or
RH 35,24,13 [hand position shift] 13,24,35 [position shift] repeat. ? Or something else? Thanx in advance.

Hi John,

I see you are new here. I think you will find a lot of value in this forum. To avoid grief, I suggest you edit out the part of the title in parentheses.

Well, I have trouble with fingering as well(and we know what you mean by fingering here on piano world. We aren't idiots) When it comes to fingering, you want to think about where you going. What is your destination. Sometimes you might have to go thumb under on some occasions. Sometimes you might have to quickly substitute a finger to get to your location(which I would recommend getting used to because substitution will be required in more advanced repertoire down the road. I hoped I helped a bit.

Currently Working On:
Chopin Waltz in B Minor (Finished)
Rondo Alla Turca - Mozart (Finished)
Coming up:
Phantom of the Opera?
Certainly more Chopin(Valses and Mazurkas, maybe even a Prelude)
And yet another Bach piece

RH 35,24,13 12,13,24 repeat. Voice the top notes and make them legatissimo. It's will sound completely connected!

May I suggest glancing at Dohnanyi's Essential Finger Exercises for Obtaining a Sure Piano Technique? The third section deals with double-stops.

Thanx for the input guys. Yep, I was using the first fingering that I listed above, and earlier this eve found a pianist who can play this piece to confirm that I was indeed using the correct fingering.
