Does anyone have a recommendation for an advanced intermediate to beginning advanced level collection of holiday favorites? So much of the holiday music seems poorly arranged. Perhaps with more of a jazz edge to it than chorale (4 voice) style. Suggestions?

Jessica, here are some suggestions. They contain some jazz-infused arrangements as well as more traditional, and both styles are quite effective:

1 Big Red & Green Book of Christmas Piano Solos various arrangers Word Music
2 Big Ivory Book of Jazz Piano Solos Word Music various arrangers (contains several Christmas selections in the collection).
3 Jazz up Your Christmas Lee Evans Hal Leonard
4 A Joyful Christmas Lee Evans Hal Leonard
5 Christmas Tapestry Bruce Greer Benson Music
5 Emmanuel Mark Hayes Lorenz
6 Well Tempered Christmas Mark Hayes Shawnee Press
7 Christmas Reflections for Piano Teresa Wilhelmi Lillenas

Hopefully, this will be of some help to you.

I have a Christmas collection here:

Link

They are more "fun interpretations" than arrangements - if you want to hear them, the individual pieces have a media player embedded.

Thank you! This helps so much. Cudo, your arrangement is lovely. I can only access the first arrangement though.

I am not a Jazz person usually, but the 'easy piano' Charlie Brown Christmas by Hal Lenord is, without doubt, the goto book for easy Christmas music that everyone will adore. It sounds great and isn't something you will have to spend months working on prior to Christmas.

I have a book of intermediate to advanced Christmas songs.....these are my arrangements.I have a cd called 'Whispers of Winter"...since I don't have a publisher I copy and bind my own books....call me old-fashioned. You can hear excerpts on my website [ www.pianopassions.com] or cdbaby.com....I enjoy playing them so that's my benchmark for if I think they are good.

Sorry JessicaB and pianoloverus.

The Links are working now again. I did change the arrangement of "Maria Walks Amid The Thorn" slightly but did not make a new take. Maybe one of you guys could make it?

Another one I did is WHITE CHRISTMAS
