Steinway web-site e-mailed me back. My piano is a case style known as Sketch No. 1111 “Centenary” and later renamed “Contemporary.” It was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague for Steinway’s 100th birthday celebration in 1953. Due to its popularity, it remained in production at Steinway New York until 1973.
Anyone know of a reputable place to provide me a quote for my piano?

Many piano technicians offer appraisal services. They would also be familiar with the prices and going rates in your market area. Often, they also know of customers who are in search of a piano. http://www.ptg.org/Scripts/4Disapi.dll/4DCGI/directory/RPT/person.htmlAfter running a search, read through the listings for your area and check for technicians who offer apprasial services.

Other limited edition Steinway model Ms sell new for $95,000. 30% of that is probably top of the mark for yours, if it's in good original condition. You should reasonably be able to expect at least $15,000 in a worst-case scenario. Things such as your location, the piano's condition, how quickly you need to sell it (if that is your intention) account for this rather large value range. It's impossible to be more precise without evaluating the piano in person.

Special cases do not bring in much in resale value, unless you have a lot of patience.
Your links to photos will not work unless you put them on a server someplace.

Greetings, I have one of those too, in ebony, and it is for sale right now. $ 15,000. It is good to remember that the 1960's Steinways had horrible actions. Small teflon, poor geometry, all around bad fitting, etc. Mine has been replaced with a complete Renner action. The pedals, though weird, function just like any others. Regards,
